How to Use WhatsApp Payments on Your Android Smartphone in India

After being in the rumors for the last few months, Facebook-owned WhatsApp has finally launched the Whatsapp Payments service. Just like WhatsApp Business, the Whatsapp Payments is also limited only to the Indian users. As rumors suggested, the WhatsApp Payments is based on the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) developed by National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). With the UPI, the transactions can be made instantly between any two UPI accounts. While WhatsApp is new to the payments service, other instant messaging apps like WeChat and Line already became popular in the payments space with the WeChat Pay and Line Pay respectively. The Hike Messenger is the first instant messaging app to make use of UPI for integrating payment services. WhatsApp currently has more than 1.5 billion monthly active users worldwide. Google, NCERT Join Hands to Bring ‘Digital Citizenship and Safety’ Training to Schools

India’s digital infrastructure is slowly coming to life, and there is no doubt that the country is rushing toward a digital-first economy. And as we are inching closer to achieving the goal of a fully digital economy, the need is to ensure citizens are both responsible as well as aware about the threats online. Thanks to an initiative by Google and National Council of Educational Research (NCERT), students across the country will now learn how to become responsible digital citizens. Google and NCERT have signed a pact to integrate a course on ‘Digital Citizenship and Safety’ in information and communication technology curriculum. The integrated course will be implemented in more than 1.4 million schools across the country from next academic session in April 2018. Under this curriculum, the students (from Class I – Class XII) will be taught how to remain safe on the internet. Jio Phone, Free With Rs. 1,500 Deposit, Unlimited 4G Data, Launched by Mukesh Ambani at Reliance AGM

JioPhone made a splash at the Reliance AGM on Friday as Mukesh Ambani took the covers off the long-rumoured 4G feature phone. The handset, introduced as "India ka Smartphone" and launched at an "effective price" of Rs. 0 (though buyers will have to shell out a refundable, upfront deposit of Rs. 1,500 for the device). JioPhone will be crucial for the company in tapping the estimated 50 crore feature phone users who have not been able to join the Jio 4G bandwagon because of the high costs associated with smartphones. Although Reliance Jio launched in India in September, the company's offering has been restricted to smartphone users as it is a 4G only network, and to make calls, a phone has to support the VoLTE technology, which is usually not found on basic phones. The company aims to change that with the JioPhone, which comes with 4G VoLTE support. The JioPhone will include access to apps like JioCinema, JioTV, and JioMusic. The changing face of Windows 10|[New features and a big adjustment to the UI are coming.]|

You would think that with the fast-approaching release for the Windows 10 Creator's Update that Microsoft would stop adding features and just go into bug squashing mode, but no, it continues to add new features to builds, and some of them are welcomed. Microsoft released a new Windows 10 Insider Preview, build 15031, last week. One of the coolest, and most welcomed by me (and probably others) is the new “Compact Overlay window” function, which can best be described as the picture-in-picture function from your TV. As you know you can only have one window on the top of the screen at any given time. If you want to watch Netflix in full screen, you can't browse the web or read email at the same time unless you have a multi-monitor setup and can additional windows on a second screen while watching Netflix. Well, this new feature allows you to pop a video, either a Skype window or the Movies & TV app, to view the video while doing other things. For me, that would mean kee

Google may soon ban torrent sites

Google's war against piracy is going to be more fierce now. Reportedly, the company is soon going to ban all the torrent sites. According to the new  report by TorrentFreak  , Google has been criticised by the Hollywood representatives for promoting piracy. Incidentally, Google is not the only web company that is working on measures to counter the torrent sites. Other search engines like Bing are also part of the plan. "The search engines involved in this work have been very co-operative, making changes to their algorithms and processes, but also working bilaterally with creative industry representatives to explore the options for new interventions, and how existing processes might be streamlined," Baroness Buscombe from UK told Torrent Freak. According to the new report, a discussion took place recently and was chaired by UK's Intellectual Property Office. Companies like Google, Yahoo, Bing and Hollywood representatives joined the meeting. Though these chang
